The volunteer crew of Oban’s RNLI Lifeboat, Mora Edith MacDonald, were called out in the small hours this morning, 25th June, at 01:05 – to transfer a patient from Mull to Oban, for transfer to the local hospitl.
The geography of the lifeboat’s territory means that patients frequently need to be transferred from one of the many islands in the area. In this instance, two paramedics accompanied the lifeboat from Oban to provide specialist care for the patient in transit.
!By 02:50 the lifeboat was back in Oban where an ambulance was waiting to take the patient to Oban, Lorn and the Isles Hospital for treatment.
